Travel... Destination Nantucket

Nantucket: an island 30 miles south of Cape Cod in Massachusetts; nicknamed 'the Grey Lady' because of constant fog; full of classic colonial architecture, and home to the Nantucket Red!
Nantucket is a summer destination filled with All-American charm, quiet harbors, and bike rides around the island.

'Turkey Terrific' at Provisions.  The perfect mix of Thanksgiving in sandwich form.

Brant Point Lighthouse - a great early morning bike ride destination.

NFF...

Today marks the start of the 17th Annual Nantucket Film Festival.  Started by island native movie-buffs Jill and Jonathan Burkhart, the festival has evolved to be one of the premiere destination film festivals in the world.

This years festival honors the talented and alluring screenwriter Nancy Meyers.  She is responsible for creating the rooms you want to live in and characters you want to be friends with. Her films include Something's Gotta Give, Father of the Bride, The Holiday, It's Complicated... the list goes on.  She creates kitchens you want to cook in, living rooms that you want to entertain in, lifestyles you want to live.   I can attest, I molded my own kitchen remodel on Erica Barry's Hamptons kitchen in Something's Gotta Give.

Here are a few images from her movie archive:

Summer luvin'...

Summer officially kicks off on June 20th.  We are less than a week away from walks on the beach, lobster rolls, monogrammed beach towels, sandals, grilling, bonfires and everything else that makes Summer, Summer!

First order of business is a new summer scent.  Gypsy Water smells just as it sounds - a vagabond of bergamot, juniper, orris, amber, pepper and sandalwood with a hit of pine needles.  The ultimate day to night.

Next up, tackle the toes!  No one wants to see chipped toes at the beach.  NYC's Tribeca hotspot  nail salon Ten Over Ten just opened their second location uptown at Le Parker Meridian Hotel.  Now you have no excuse.  The ladies of Ten Over Ten have created a living room like atmosphere, with comfy barrel pedicure chairs, iPads, and a growing collection of signature polishes, ranging from SoulCycle yellow to Parker Palm Springs red.

Channeling our Mothers for a moment, don't forget your sunscreen!  I recently received the Supergoop City & Sand Travel Tote as a gift.  It made it's debut at the beach last weekend to raving reviews.  The Everyday Lotion for Face & Body went on incredibly smooth and light.  This genius set comes in a compact terry pouch, as to not take up precious magazine and kadima space in the beach tote.

Happy Summer!
