Day trip… the Hamptons

One of the perks of living in NYC is the multitude of options for day trips.
Just two hours east of the city are the illustrious Hamptons - home to some of the most beautiful beaches in the country, picturesque homes, and quaint small towns.

A recent trip began with lunch at Tom Colicchio's Topping Rose House in Bridgehampton.  The newly renovated Inn is wrapped with a covered terrace and flanked by hydrangeas welcoming guests.

A seasonal menu offers mushroom flatbreads, monk fish with locally grown vegetables, and a luxurious lobster roll - but the piece de resistance: dessert.  Strawberries (picked from their on-site farm) with cream cheese ice cream, basil and shortbread - pure delight.

Retreat to the serene pool area for some R&R after lunch.

Next Stop: the Eric Firestone Gallery in East Hampton.
Illustrator, instagram sensation, and modern day Warhol - Donald Robertson has taken over the space with his quirky paintings and drawings.  Louis Vuitton logo'ed pizza boxes, gaffer tape images of Wilma Flinstone, spray pained lips (similar to the iconic Rolling Stone's lips) are just a few of the items hanging from the walls.

One of my favorite pieces, the Preppy Pants is sadly sold out.

Donald takes what he sees on his instagram feed and makes it into art.  For example the chic woman in profile below with her Chanel backpack and Adidas stripe slides.

No trip out east is complete without a quick trip to the beach!

You may not be able to spend all summer in the Hamptons but you can take some of it home with you -
Wolffer Rosé tastes just as good at home as it does in their tasting room!
