Sale Edition! Get them while you can!
The Row espadrille sandal
Jimmy Choo shearling
Chloe leather boots
These Marni slides are on my wishlist on every site!
I love my mask. My favorite is from here, followed by a close second. What I don't love, my skin after wearing a mask. Lauren Napier's 'flaunt' face masks work wonders. Each wipe contains vitamin C, collagen boosters, and lycopene, leaving your face bright and dewey.
It hasn't been cold, cold in NYC in a while. I remember a Winter years ago where temperatures were in the single digits for a week straight. To say this left an impression is an understatement. Since then, I have been building a cold weather accoutrement arsenal. A few things I have my eye on now.
Mango quilted coat (I'm still hoping for this or this one!)
Portolano cashmere mittens/gloves. Text without fear of loosing your glove.
N. Peal cashmere beanie
Cos cashmere joggers
Cos quilted vest (great for layering without bulk)
JCrew oversized cashmere scarf. I own three, nuff said!
Not much feels 'normal' right now, but the Fashion world is trying. Spring/Summer 2021 Couture Shows are happening in Paris this week as scheduled. Couture is always story of escapism, one of a kind pieces, the most beautiful hand detailing. If I could escape somewhere, it would be to Virginie Viard's Land of Chanel. Etherial, romantic, and celebratory.
One of the many things I miss in life now is visiting Art Galleries and Museums. I saw Donald Judd at MoMA last Fall, and went to the Costume Institute at the MET this Winter. But, there are so many more things I want to see! Now, in this frigid final week of January, I am going to do it; going to check these off my to-do list.
This exhibit has been all over my instagram feed. I love Rothko and have never seen an exhibit of his work. Gallery appointments are needed for entry.
The Collection of Mr. And Mrs. John H. Gutfreund
The famed 834 Fifth Avenue apartment of Mr. and Mrs. Gutfreund is now on display at Christie's, ahead of auction. From tabletop wonders, to Chanel jewelry (she was friends with Karl), plus furniture and decor. On view thru January 29th.
David Hockney: Drawing From Life
Known for his pools and portraits of those close to him, Hockney is arguably one of the most renowned living artists today. The exhibit follows the artist as his work adapts to modern day, and reminisces on works past. On view thru May 30.

One thing I wish I could do is draw. I am in awe of illustrators that make putting pen to paper look natural and easy. Favorites include Donald Robertson, Blair Bretenstein, and most recently Lia Burke Libaire. Lia has collaborated with Courtland & Co., again, on various linens accented with whimsical hearts. Debut in time for Valentine's Day, use all year round!
I've always done very well at UK department store sales. Scores included, an Etoile Isabel Marant cardigan, a full Dries van Noten outfit, and nearly took home a pair of Valentino Tangos. Selfridges, Harrods, Liberty, I love them all, but I've lucked out the most at Harvey Nichols.
A few things for now, and for when we are out of lockdown.
The super classic envelope clutch from The Row,
Suede slingbacks from Manolo Blahnik, for when we wear heels again,
To wear now, Stella McCartney cashmere joggers,
Summer stripes courtesy of Loewe,
Cult cream set from Augustinus Bader
The Margaux Mule. Available in jewel tone velvets and a splendid leopard haircalf, decisions, decisions.
After a hiatus, due to just being tired of cooking, I'm back!
At the top of my list of things to make Athena's Lemony Shrimp & White Bean Stew. Followed by the easiest Apple Crumble around. And maybe some no-knead whole wheat bread for fun!
Currently grateful that I do not have the ingredients to make this! NYTimes Cooking on instagram can be quite dangerous.

This version from Scully & Scully is similar mine, and to Diane's above. And, a woven tray is a chic addition to any boudoir.
Last year I made a sale wishlist, and did pretty well from it. I managed to acquire some closet favorites at a fraction of their original cost. This year, I've already snagged this dream sweater, and these sneakers.
At the tippy-top of my wishlist is this slip dress from The Row. A slip dress has been on my radar for a while, but they all are so bare - this one is not. Perfect for Spring and Summer dining al fresco (paired with sandals scored last year). Or paired with a sweater and suede boots for Winter. Oh the places I'll go! (additional 15% off applied at checkout)
My wishlist seems to be evening wear heavy, clearly sweatpants are not my thing. I dream of attending "Welcome Back" parties wearing this Tôteme duchess satin dress. Currently sold out, but I'm keeping an eye out for it here and here.
Altuzarra silk floral pajamas. I truly believe these can be worn inside and out.
In sort of more practical terms, I cannot get enough shearling. I want everything to be fuzzy and cozy. This boot style from Isabel Marant is released every year, and every year sells out.
New Year's resolutions always take a bit to stick, for me at least. I think about them most of January, and by February the routine has formed. Last week they all went out the window, so here is to a new week!
In the past, I participated in a January hot yoga-reset-challenge, 12 classes in 4 weeks. On paper this doesn't sound horrible, but in reality... it put it simply, it was torture. In its defense, after a December filled with eating, drinking, and no real structure, this was in fact a reset. This year, while I do not miss this, I am in search of a reset.
The New York Times is building out their Well section, offering various at-home workout tutorials. A standing 7 minute workout, I can do that!
@isaacboots is a favorite among the workout fiends. I've been too afraid to try his dance inspired cardio workouts, but now is the time!
Naturally, any new workout regimen needs the proper attire. Hoping these leggings will make me want to workout 24/7.
