Hostess gifts...
The next five weeks are filled with get-togethers. And with that comes the host/hostess gift. Unless your host doesn't drink, skip the corner liquor store on the way, and opt for something a little more special. After all, you want to be invited back next year!
The Rounds. By far my best find of the last five years. Tiny customizable cookies sure to delight the dessert table, and that last glass of Sancerre.
Did your hosts go on a Disney Cruise this year? And, somehow love it? A token to commemorate their excitement, paired with a look of 'I'd never'.
Betcha no one else is bringing a Pickleball ornament to the party!
There are some parties where you show up hungry. You know there will be plenty of hors d'oeuvres and they will be delish. The Jennifer Fisher salt trio is sure to spark conversation about the next dinner party.
No matter what, a good guest always writes a note the next day.

Stay in bed...
My favorite place to be is in bed. Only better, a Hill House Home bed. Their Annual sale is something I look forward to, and it is here!
Their pillow inserts are incredible. I have a set for my 'pretty pillows' and want a set to actually lay my head on.
Pillowcases with a clever saying - beauty sleep, do not disturb, snooze...
Most worn HHH item, to bed!
My eye on... this vest. Might make getting out of bed a little easier.

Holiday Inspiration...
Elizabeth Debicki at the premiere of The Crown in Los Angeles is my style inspiration this season. Simple and chic. I'm not a fan of 'festive' and have never met a 'ugly Christmas sweater' I'd ever make eye contact with. Halloween is for costumes, Holiday is for dressing up!
That said, bring on the carolers, the mistletoe, and the holiday lights! I'll be channeling ED all season long, can't go wrong with a LBD.
Elizabeth is wearing Bottega Veneta. For the rest of us, La Ligne makes some of my favorite black dresses. I have a variation of this one, and it always works. Black sheers have been having a moment lately, might have to give a whirl.
G. Label has really stepped up its game, and their Holiday drop does not disappoint. The tab for this bustier top has been open on my laptop for over a week. It would be a staple in my rotation - paired with a black trouser for dinner and dancing, jeans for festivities at home, layered over a white button down for day... the possibilities are endless.
On your way out the door - let the sweetest Dior pink set add the finishing touch.
For the after party, J.Crew with the winning slipper!

To-do, to-see, to-buy...
I love a list. I love a list on paper, in my notes app, in my head... there is a list for everything! Exhibits to visit, restaurants to try, areas to explore, and of course things to buy.
I have a vision for winter of oversized cashmere sweaters paired with either a silk dress or skirt. This sweater is like nothing I own, and if the weather gets cold enough I see myself living in it! *disclaimer, all things La Ligne are on my wishlist.
Jeans are forever on my list, constant trial and error.
I seem to be Goldilocks when it comes to black trousers. I own a lot, but none are ever right. Too wide, too narrow, too short, too long...
I bought this bedside table earlier this year and love it! Measuring to see if I can fit a second on the other side. On sale and free shipping are magic words.
Forever a GP devotee. And, can't wait to get my hands on this.

Suit up...
I never wanted to wear a suit day in day out. To me, suits were synonymous with boring. All this changed when I tried on this Argent double breasted blazer this week. Talk about immediately feeling dressed. Paired with a wide leg black trouser and a thin belt around the waist of the blazer, watch out world!

I just finished The Guest by Emma Cline, and have so many questions.
Grey for Fall... groundbreaking.

Black tie (not) optional...
At the tippy top of my Fall wishlist is a tuxedo - a jacket and trousers. Contrary to current style trends, I am not a blazer girl. I don't love how they look on me. But, I do love a tuxedo jacket over my shoulders, it reads softer for me. The satin lapels speak to me, and I love the detail of the trouser. I'd probably never wear them together, but can see countless uses for them apart. Let the hunting begin!

Three things...
I cannot wait for the Barbie movie to come out! Every article I read in anticipation of.
Anyone else sick of florals? Melissa Morris's black and white wardrobe is both enviable and achievable.
Farm Stand season is in full swing. Youngs Farm is on my list of must-visit this summer.

Bronzed...
Brown has never been a color in my wardrobe. Camel sweaters, yes. Brown boots, maybe a pair. Lately, brown feels polished and new. A little sun-kissed, blonde highlights, and brown tones feel very on par for Summer.

A tisket, a tasket...
I love a basket! To carry around town, a la Jane Birken, and to have around my home. I currently have this basket in my front hall to contain my shoes, and think I might need a second for Summer items. It is wide enough to be able to see everything, and not too deep, so nothing gets lost. And, it's attractive! Bonus.

Exposed toes...
NYC saw 90 degree temperatures this week. It is time for a fresh pedicure, and sandals.
These Emme Parsons sandals will be mine this Summer, I envision I'll wear them everyday, and might need in more than one color.
Classic, white Jack Rogers feel fresh and new right about now. And, a perfect city sandal.
Now, to pick the right red for my toes.

Spring ahead...
We turn the clocks ahead this weekend, meaning Summer is on the horizon. A few things on my wishlist for the sunny days ahead.
Khaite raffia tote. I have eyed this bag for years! The ultimate 24/7 bag.
Emme Parsons sandals. To be honest, there are 3 pairs of sandals from this brand that I have my eye on, but these are at the tippy top of my list. The gold are on sale at BG.
White jeans are hard to find. They are a true Goldilocks item for me - too small, too big, too stretchy, rarely just right. This pair from Frame is worth a try.
I love a matching set. Worn together, or separately, it always feels put together. Ulla does sets well, and her pieces work together from previous seasons. (bonus, this set is part of the Net-a-Porter sale)

Weekend reading...
Tabs open on my laptop:
I happened upon Flaco in the North Woods of Central Park the other day, this owl has quite the following.
Eugene Levy hosts a travel show.
I'll never give up my 212.
A new book on my list, can't wait to read Pineapple Street.
A new tome on the Lagerfeld legacy at Chanel. Just in time for the MET Costume Institute exhibition in May.
Wishing I was in Palm Beach to see this in person.
I have my eye on these sneakers, these, and these.

Black and white...
Charlize Theron can do no wrong in my style book - always polished, never overdone. At the Dior Autumn/Hiver Show in Paris this week, the star paired an ivory flapper style dress with a classic black car coat, flat boots, and the ultimate mini Lady Dior bag. Simple yet so perfect.

ALT at Christie's...
This visit is so special, it deserves a space of its own. Currently, on view at Christie's Rockefeller Center, The Collection of Andre Leon Talley. The larger than life former Vogue editor, champion of fashion and taste, and icon, passed away a year ago leaving behind an impeccable collection of fashion and memories. The sale is on view thru February 16th.

A little fun...
Getting dressed is difficult lately. Everything in my closet feels tired and blah. Everything in the stores feels expensive and lackluster. What happened to fun? Clothes that made you feel good and excited to leave the house. This JW Anderson knit skirt is just that. Flirty scallops, begging to be paired with Swiss-dot tights, ready for a night out on the town!

EJT Opinion... the Clutch
A friend recently asked me, what my go-to evening bag was. I have a few, but I can tell you, it is not a clutch! Working in celebrity styling, the client is always paired with a clutch for evening. Useless rectangular hard-cases, barely holding a lipstick, awkwardly held in the hand, forgotten when tucked under the shoulder. Why would someone subject themselves to this torture?
In Fall and Winter, my go-to is The Row's Ascot bag. Mary Kate and Ashley, if you are reading, please bring this back! The one I own is velvet, and perfectly slouchy. Large enough to hold everything I need for a night out, and fits perfectly just above my wrist. I can hold a glass of wine with one hand, and partake in the passed hors d'oeuvres with the other. I would buy this bag ten times over, in every fabrication. For now, I'll continue searching the resale sites.
I'm not opposed to a crossbody for evening. Again, hands-free for partying. A Chanel wallet-on-a-chain is a classic, no brainer. Instantly elevates any outfit, holds your essentials (your doorman may have to hold your keys in order to fit that extra lip gloss), and works for any occasion. Wrap the chain around twice for a more polished look. This is another good wallet-on-a-chain, and you can never go wrong with Bottega Veneta.
I know, my evening bag choices do not scream evening, maybe that is why I like them. I could use any one of these for a Saturday night out, or a family get-together. Versatility is key. I think this Judith Lieber is adorable, and timeless (and has a chain!), but I can count on one hand the amount of times I would leave the house with it. It just doesn't make sense to me.
Go out, have fun, think about where you are going, you don't want to be that girl in the corner clutching a clutch.
