Making a list, checking it twice...

The stockings are being hung by the chimney with care...
A month of gift ideas starts this Friday.

How adorable are these ornaments from Roberta Roller Rabbit... now I just need a tree.

Tinsel time...

I'm not a fan of tinsel on trees, but tinsel on my ears - sold!
These 'Holly" earrings from Isabel Marant have holiday party written all over them.
Just the right amount of glitz to make your all black outfit sparkle.

Holiday Weekend to-do...

I have quite the to-do list for while I am home for the long holiday weekend.

1. See Murder on the Orient Express
Reviews are mixed, but what do they know!

2. Stocking my bathroom with these gems.
The sugar body scrub from Fresh is one of my favorite things.

3. Testing out this Banana Bread recipe.
Will it be as good as Mom's? (I doubt it!)

4. Quick tutorial in how to use Insta Stories.
Because you can't post just a basic turkey pic.

5. Let The Holiday viewing season begin!

A tisket, a tasket...

 Isn't this the cutest basket?!?

The Maryn...

It is pop-up season.  Online only retailers 'pop-up' in temporary spaces for the holiday season.   One Kings Lane did this in Southampton last summer (rumor is they are coming back next summer!); Goop opened their second NYC pop-up just last week, #GoopGift.
The Maryn has also jumped on the pop-up bandwagon.  Michelle Adams, previously of domino and Lonny, launched the Maryn as an online arena for interiors and design based on her favorite seaside locations.   The site is filled with charming tabletop items, fluffy pillows, and affordable art.
This season, in Ann Arbor, MI, Adams opened a brick and mortar pop-up bringing her vision of seaside charm to life.  Not planning a trip to Michigan over the holidays?  No worries, the entire shop is available online.

Shoeday Sunday...

A day late, but worth the wait.
Have you heard of Le Monde Beryl?
They make beautiful venetian slippers, in a ton of fun colors.
The suede looks soft, and immediately comfortable.

Ed note: Today is the last day of M'Oda Operandi's sale - pick these up for 50% off with code FRIENDS50!

Brrr...

This mornings walk across Central Park required a coat, scarf, gloves and hat.
It also had me wishing for another layer!  This fleece from Madewell looks nice and toasty right about now.

Monday mood boost...

It is officially winter.  It is dark by 4:30pm, and coats and scarves are in heavy rotation.
How do you elevate your mood when the days are mostly dark and grey?
Some wrap themselves in cashmere in front of the fire;
Some spend their days in the kitchen cooking soups and stews;
Some switch up their beauty routines to adapt to the cold (more on this later);
I peruse jewelry.
What better way to elevate your mood than with a new bauble.

Weekend plans...

Yayoi Kusama may be my favorite contemporary artist.  Her polka dots and use of light and reflection are so calming and happy.  I visited her 'Fireflies on the Water' exhibit at the Whitney (when it was still uptown), and saw her installation at the Glass House last summer.  Now David Zwirner is hosting a large exhibition of her work and installations at two NYC galleries.  Lines are said to be at a record high to get in, but definitely worth the wait!

Tea time...

One of my favorite memories from last year's trip to London, was having tea at Claridge's.
Admittedly, I went for the stunning striped china, and I left with a box of scones to take back to the US.
Now, you can get Claridge's scones in your own kitchen, with their new cookbook!
Sadly, Bernardaud's Gallerie Royal in green is sold separately.

Closet staple...

There are few things I love more than a white cotton blouse.
It is a closet go to for me, doesn't matter if it is hot or cold outside, sunny or raining, they always work.
This one from Uniqlo is on sale... meaning maybe buying the black one too!
