Vest love...

I own this vest, and love it.
It is the epitome of a Fall staple - warm and fuzzy; great on it's own and great to layer when the weather turns arctic.
Sadly, my dryer burned the fleece, and is not soft anymore.
Luckily, JCrew is offering the classic again this season, and currently at 40% off!
Happy weekend, indeed.

Transitional dressing...

I am not a fan of this time of year.  It is cold in the mornings, warm during the day, and feels like it is about to rain at every moment.  How does one dress for this?  Earlier this week I wore one of my warmest sweaters, by the end of the week I was sweating on my walk home.  What is transitional dressing? My wardrobe goes from white cotton dresses in the summer, to cashmere sweaters for winter.  There is no in-between.
I'm not sure if this is transitional dressing, but I do know that I feel a need to add some neutral classic pieces to my wardrobe.

Kitchen love...

Recently, I have been thinking about if I did not do what I was doing, what would I do instead.
I think I would be a kitchen designer.
There is nothing better to me than a beautiful, serene, organized kitchen.
One of my fondest memories of remodeling my house was designing the kitchen - seeing ideas come to life, envisioning how the space will be used, and filling the space with heirlooms - your grandmothers glassware, and your mothers silver.  Heaven to me!

Some pretty kitchens, on a rainy day...

My favorite glasses...

Recently, while trying to Marie Kondo my kitchen cabinets,
I declared that I am no longer allowed to buy glassware.   My kitchen cabinets are bursting with wine glasses, champagne coupés, footed water glasses, et cetera, et cetera.  One set of glasses that remained front and center are my 'spanish beer glasses' from Canvas Home.  While, I have never had a beer out of them, they are modeled after those used in Barcelona.  They are light and thin, perfect for Pellegrino, or an Arnold Palmer in the summer.

Hat head...

Confession: I have become a hat person.
Every visit to the pool or beach (or any day spent predominately outside) this summer, I have worn a hat.  It began out of vein, I did not want to sunburn my face, knowing the affects the sun has on your skin.  But, suddenly, I began to love my hat!  This Lola hat, similar purchased last summer, is my favorite.  This summer I added a surfer hat from Amazon, it blocks the sun, but isn't the chicest hat on the block.
Enter Brock Collection x Nick Fouquet.  At the Spring 2019 show in NYC earlier this month, Brock announced their collaboration with Nick Fouquet.  Brock epitomizes feminine dressing and Nick is the ultimate Malibu hatmaker.  The worn in aesthetic of Nick's hats are Brock-ized with a ribbon tie.

And the Emmy goes to...

The Emmy Awards are tonight.  While I am pulling for a few of my favorite shows, The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel (cannot wait for Season 2), The Crown (!), This Is Us; I am really watching for the fashions. Chanel, Oscar de la Renta, Tom Ford, I can't wait to see who wears what on the red carpet.

Nicole Kidman wowed in scarlet Calvin Klein last year for her memorable Emmy win.

Shoeday Saturday...

Jessie Randall of Loeffler Randall instagrammed this shoe the other day and it caught my eye.  The velvet pop of color (not to mention wearable heel) is the perfect seasonal shoe update.

Fall ready...

Fall is in the air.
While I hate to see Summer go, there are certain elements about Fall I look forward to;  apple and pumpkin picking, mulled apple cider, and wearing some of my favorite cashmere sweaters.
This top from Doen is the perfect Fall addition -  dark paisley print accented with  a velvet ribbon,  it works for weekdays at the office, and weekends at the apple orchard.
