Designers doing their part for change.
When Covid-19 first reared its ugly head in NYC, jewelry designer Brent Neale decided to do what she knew best, paint. She painted a single flower each day, to be sold to a quick thumbed instagram follower. Each dollar of the sale went towards a commemorative bench in Central Park dedicated to our frontline health workers.
After the tragic events of the past few weeks, Neale took to her flowers again, this time for the NAACP. For every painting sold, Neale is matching the donation, doubling the impact.
Over the weekend, I was one of the lucky instagram followers. This Calla Lily will hang in my home, as a daily reminder that I can do better.
