Tennis sale edit...

Lately, the only things I am purchasing are tennis related - skirts, tops, dresses.
Some post Christmas pieces on sale that I have my eye on.

The Upside tennis dress.  This is en route to me as we speak.

Marysia scallop tennis dress.  My absolute favorite tennis skirts are from Marysia, I have no doubt I'll love this dress as well.

Tory Sport pleated skirt.  I've had my eye on this skirt for years, maybe time to pull the trigger.

Truck Sport x Neely & Chloe racquet bag.   I typically use my LL Bean tote, but am into this gingham cover for my racquet.

Inspired by Harbour Island...

Harbour island has been on my wishlist for years! The pink sand beaches, sun soaked pastel homes, The Dunmore all quaint and charming in pictures, and desperate to visit in person.   The Island did not disappoint - the clear turquoise water, seafood for lunch and dinner, and endless fun.  Harbour island, I'll be back.

Asha 'Harbour Island' pendant.  The Gift Shop at The Dunmore had them for sale!

Island Hopping by Amanda Lindroth.  Lindroth designed The Dunmore, and many other spaces on the Island.

Rebecca de Ravanel straw bag.  Straw bags are everywhere on the island.

Marysia maillot, inspired by the colors of Harbour Island.

End of Summer...

The end of Summer is always sad.  I want to be the last one on the beach, buy everything at the farmstand, and play tennis everyday.

Scallops and polka dots...

Marysia checks all of the boxes to me, it is all I want to wear.  Classic, comfortable, and chic.    They make my absolute favorite tennis skirts, and this swimsuit has been on my wishlist for years.

Mind The Gap...

In the Summer of 2017, I rode the elevator with a girl wearing the cutest one-shoulder, white poplin top. It was perfect, I had to know where it was from.  She smiled and said 'the Gap.'  The. Gap!  I ordered immediately and it became my go-to top. It came with me to lobsters in Montauk, wine in Newport, pizza in Southampton, and Liberty in London.  Thank goodness for Oxy-Clean.  While perusing white button downs, The Gap has another perfect one shoulder top this Summer.  Add to cart!

Seen at the beach...

I love a beach scene. From beach totes, to chairs, to pareos, I love it all.

Over the weekend I sat next to twins (!) at the beach, both wearing the below Celine sunglasses.  They were perfect, not too large, not too small, not ostentatious, and just enough glamorous.

Summer Style...

A few things I'm hoping make their way to my closet this Summer...

Scallops and bows, my favorites.
Chic swim.
Everyday sandal.
I love nothing more than a matching set! (Top, Skirt)

Kaia Gerber wore the perfect Summer outfit last week in the South of France.  Her white dress, raffia tote and chic sunnies are effortlessly chic.

Tennis time...

The French Open is underway.  While I'm not in the stands at Roland Garros, I can stock up on merchandise.

If only...

One of the things I don't like about New York City, is lack of a yard.  A place to set a pretty table, grill shrimp on the barbecue, and just be outside.

Cover-up...

Last night I googled something I never imagined I would - clothing with SPF in it.

NYC had its first taste of Summer over the weekend, 90 degrees and clear blue skies.  While my mind was ready to be outside all day, watching the surfers, playing tennis, strolling thru town, my skin was not.  My sunscreen and wide-brim hat need some assistance, in particular on the tennis court.  A long-sleeve, breathable, crewneck, in white, let the hunt begin.

Athleta has an impressive selection of clothing with UPF.  I ordered this tee to try.

Mott50 has a rash guard, for some added neck protection.

Coolibar, a brand dedicated entirely to sun protective clothing, has some options as well.

Greenwich time...

I've been eagerly awaiting this house tour.  When I learned, super chic photographer, Claiborne Swanson Frank, teamed up with the lovely Asia Baker Stokes on the design of her new Greenwich home, it would be gorgeous, and it is!  Soothing, etherial, with a bit of whimsey, truly a beautiful space.   See the full story in the June issue of Architectural Digest.

I have a type...

Whether seaside, or poolside, it is always a black maillot for me.  There is nothing chicer than a simple black suit, tanned legs, and after a stern warning from my dermatologist, a sun hat.

My eye on...

This Ginori pattern just doesn't get old for me.  The Avenue is offering 20% off, sounds like a good way to start a collection.

Your PB&J is instantly elevated on this gorgeous scalloped plate.

Totes are my kryptonite.  My closet is overtaken with them, but that has not stopped me from obsessing over this beauty from Rue de Verneuil.

Summer sneaks!

This summer I want to build an arsenal of tennis dresses.  Certain tops only work with certain skirts, and inevitably one is always in the wash.  A tennis dress solves this conundrum.

Ina and Aerin...

I can't think of better pairing - Ina Garten baked goods on an Aerin Lauder cake stand.   In my imaginary dinner parties, both women are there, with their respective wares.

Until Ina develops a 'click to buy' button on Instagram, I'll be googling her recipes and making them at home.

In the clouds...

One of my favorite things to do is walk along Park Avenue at night.  The lights are on in stunning apartments, and I get a glimpse of the decor.    My current favorite is an apartment on 79th Street with Cole & Son 'Nuvolette' wallpaper in their TV room.   It is the pale blue color way and trim and ceiling are painted blue, a few shades darker.   It is just lovely!

I love this wallpaper, have for a long time.  I especially love it for a small space - a powder room, an entry, a small hallway.

Weekend reads...

Are you watching Anatomy of a Scandal on Netflix?  It is so good! Sienna Miller is fantastic (and so are her clothes!)

I very much agree with the notion that cleaning and organizing have countless health benefits.

So many recipes here, making me look forward to nectarine and tomato season.

WSJ claims that the ballet flat is back.  For some of us, it never left.

If you are not following @habituallychic on instagram, you should be.  She is currently living in Paris for a month and her adventures are mesmerizing.

The short of it...

While switching my closets from Winter to Summer a sad truth came to light, my beloved Isabel Marant shorts are disintegrating.  The fabric is now paper thin, and the elastic stretched its last stretch.   I wouldn't even know where to begin to repair them.   They were the perfect pair of shorts - not too short, not too fussy - could be worn during the week in the city, or paired with a swimsuit by the pool.   Thankfully Isabel Marant has shorts again this season, and they are adorable.  Looks like it will be another summer of Isabel.

The Pro-Shop...

The TENNIS Pro-shop.  The market is booming with new tennis brands, one cuter than the next.   Rather than have a million open tabs on my laptop, I'm putting them in one shop!  Everything you need for both on, and off, the court.

Game - Set - Shop!

Places to go...

My hunt for the perfect white jean continues. Never enough white blouses. And, a floral jacket that I've been thinking about for a week.  Paired with sandals I've been waiting a year to wear.

Clothes I want to wear...

Easier said than done!   Thank you Ulla Johnson for making dresses that I want to own and wear, for years to come!  Classic, a touch flirty, and hopefully soon to my closet.

This and more in The Goods.

Print-tastic...

I am a huge fan of Lia Burke Libaire.  Her prints are just charming, and even better when in a grouping.   She is currently offering 15% off all prints thru Friday.

Spring goods...

Spring has spring in The Goods, even if the temperatures outside are not quite there yet.             This time of year is tricky, we all want to break free from the winter layers.  As temperatures gradually increase,  I have my eye on a few pieces to carry thru Summer.  In the meantime, thank goodness for my trench coat, and my hunt for new denim continues.

Side table love...

Rita Konig is one of my all time favorite interior designers.  Her spaces are soft, and livable, not to mention impeccably charming.  She is one of the few people that could tell me to buy tar, and I would consider it.

Ms. Konig's collection with the Lacquer Company is nothing short of sublime;  scallops galore, and endless possibilities.   This grey oak end table popped up on Chairish, and it is perfect.   A flat surface for evening glass of wine, a shelf for your latest coffee table book acquisition, and a hidden drawer to hide the remotes.  The best part, it is in stock.

Dancing in the streets...

For Fall 2022, Oscar de la Renta is taking their dresses for a night out on the town!

Their cute video, in lieu of a traditional runway show, is a glimpse of what we all are all hoping for Fall...

Bedroom refresh...

After being home, home and home again for the past two years, I am sick of looking at almost everything in my house.   Nothing super major, but I have my mind set on a few changes in my bedroom.

A new rug.  Currently, I have a very flat cotton rug.  It served its' original purpose, something on the floor that went with my furniture.   Now, I am looking for something with a little texture, a little softness under foot, yet still neutral.

I love my upholstered bed, and that is not going anywhere.  My mattress on the other hand is crying for help.

On my constant wishlist, is a pair of these Ralph Lauren lamps flanking my bed.

Confession, I do not have a proper end table.  This simple square from Serena & Lily caught my eye and might just be the winner!

Lastly, burl wood frames with botanical prints on the wall, simple and serene.

Totes all around...

Another thing I love about Summer, the totes!  Canvas and raffia totes to bring from the pool, to the beach, to the tennis court, and everywhere in-between.

Anya Hindmarch TENNIS tote.  Does it get any better?

Valextra two-tone shopper.  Olive is my new favorite neutral.

Khaite raffia tote.  Long on my radar, I am happy to see this bag again this season.  Maybe this will be my year to purchase one.

Milton Market x Reed Krakoff canvas tote.  Clean, classic, perfect.

Oh socks...

New territory for me: socks.  Athletic socks, I have a handle on, certain pairs for tennis, others for strolls in the park.  Lately, I've been looking for a dress sock.

Top of my wishlist, Gucci knee socks. How cute peeking out paired with sneakers.

Comme Si cashmere duo would be welcome in the sock drawer.

Lauren Manoogian alpaca blend knee socks, go with everything.

Slipper season...

The most worn shoes in my closet: slippers!  Cozy, comfy and go with everything.

The holy grail of slippers are the Jenni Kayne shearling moccasins.

Some others I have my eye on:  Sleeper shearling slips, available in a rainbow of colors, the pink being just fun.

L.L. Bean's fleece booties look like clouds for your feet.

Armor-Lux striped wool slippers are just classics, and hold up incredibly well.
