Gifting III...

Sometimes the practical gift is the best gift.

For the girl that leaves a trail of blonde hair everywhere she goes.  Who knew a dust buster could be exciting!

No one wants to feel their age... enter the Theragun Mini to aid with aches and pains.

January gym resolutions, you'll need new socks.

Everyone should want new fluffy white towels.

As much as it pains me to admit, a down coat is needed for a NYC winter.

Gifting II...

Unintentionally foot focused.

Imagine your little hockey playing nephew coming out of the locker room in these!

On the topic of slippers, these stripe cuties are at the top of my list! (note, they run small)

What else is on my list you ask? The boat & tote is my current everyday bag of choice, a new one for 2026 would be lovely.  Gifters' choice as to quirky moniker.

For the perennially cold one on your list, cashmere, of course.

Gifting I...

'Tis the season! The garland is hung, the carolers are caroling, the parties are in full swing.  It's the best time of year!

The last thing the internet needs is another gift guide... so this isn't one.  Over the next few days I'm going to share the whirlwind of ideas happening in my head, if any tickle your fancy, you're welcome!

For the make-up maven, Weezie make-up towels.  I am fully aware this is just a navy washcloth, but the embroidered eyelashes make it all worth while.

For the gracious hostess, no one wants a regifted candle or another bottle of wine.  Get them something that they likely aren't buying for themselves, a fancy hand cream or a lip set.

For the flowers she gets from Trader Joes every week, Tory Burch spongeware pitcher.  It's a little bit Martha and a little bit Nancy.

For the one that wants what you can't find.  The Margaux Chelsea Boot in Cocoa Suede.  Fingers crossed for a re-stock soon.

July camera roll...

Summer (mostly) in the City.

Hilma af Klimt at MoMA is a gorgeous botanical dream.

Finally made it to breakfast at Raf's, to say it was charming is an understatement.

Festive cookies from The Rounds are always a good idea.

Jean Georges at the Mark brought a summer staple to Madison Ave.

There is only one solution to sweltering summer heat, the beach!

Summer to-do...

Suddenly summer is in full swing, and there is a lot left on the to-do list.

Beach reads.  I've made a decent dent in my summer reading list.  Park Ave and Mansion Beach are the standouts so far.

Visits to the Hamptons. Perusing the new Julia Amory store and the Sagaponick General Store top my list.

Hydrangea peeping - 'tis their season!

Making, and eating, a rustic fruit crostata.

More lobster rolls.

Using all of the basket bags!

Wimbledon...

Gorgeous green grass courts, all white attire, and strawberries and cream, can only mean one thing, Wimbledon!

A basket a day...

I have a soft spot for basket bags.  Every season I tell myself I am not allowed to purchase another, and every season I find myself ogling over more.  Some people collect books or stamps, I seem to collect basket bags.
A few I have bookmarked recently:
Mercules, I love the shape and minimal leather detail.
Kinderbrook Home, these were all over instagram this past weekend.  Looks like it will be a Jane Birkin summer.
Jenni Kayne's black raffia tote feels very NYC a pro-pro.
Dans-La-Main replicated a classic in seagrass.

There is only one...

Everyone is up in arms over the new Ryan Murphy series, American Love Story, as they should be.  There is only one CBK!

Stuck...

I was stuck in an elevator this afternoon.  While my experience was much less dramatic, it did remind me of this scene from You've Got Mail.

Weekend reading...

'Like many of its customers, Zitomer has recently received a facelift.'

Substack is an abyss of curated pages, but there are some finds.  The Perfect is a new-to-me find that garnered my attention with vintage LL Bean totes and a whimsical tennis hat.

Another Substack find, Jessie Loves, from Jessie Loeffler Randall.  Her writing is relatable, and her guide to charming NYC shops is on my weekend agenda.

Useful intel on the Hamptons

My love of sterling silver now feels validated.

June wishlist...

Velvet might not be synonymous with Summer, but these pink mj's would be so cute with a little white dress.

Raffia is my love language.   This tote feels like modern day Jane Birkin.

Isabel Marant mini's just scream summer.

A city sandal.  While I love a bare sandal, the realities of living in NYC warrants a summer shoe with a little more protection.  Now the 3rd year in a row, Emme Parsons 'Bari' sandal is at the top of my list.  Close second the Staud x Birkenstock sandals.

Reading material...

Few things have have caught my eye enough to read from start to finish recently.   A few good reads for another cloudy weekend in the Northeast.

A laugh-out-loud parody about the Hamptons from Vogue

Sting owning a villa and winery in Tuscany is not surprising.  The fact that there is a wood-burning pizza restaurant open to the public on the premises is!   Who wants to book a ticket to Italy?

Linda Wells, of Allure fame, has a beauty and wellness subset of Air Mail.  It is one of the few things I am excited to see in my inbox.  This weeks article on the cult of Pilates, is entertainingly accurate.

June places to go, things to see...

The OG Birkin bag hits the auction block in Pairs this July. A girl can dream.

A visit to the newly reimagined Frick is a must this Summer.  While there, pop in to their just-opened cafe, Westmoreland

Beach read season, is one of my favorite seasons.  I'll read whatever Sag Harbor books is selling.

It is Sabalenka vs. Gauff this weekend on the red clay at Roland-Garros

Julia Amory opens her latest shop on Jobs Lane in Southampton this weekend.  Cue printed pareos and matching set chicness.

Early Summer refresh...

Summer is on the horizon.  A few things on my list for the season, in addition to the aforementioned goldfish dress

1. Outdoor tennis starts April 26th!  Fresh tennis whites are in need.

2. My beloved Jenni Kayne sandals saw their last Summer last year, new city-chic sandals are much needed.

3. Colorful sarongs to whip out of my basket bag at the beach.

4. Sunkissed in a white eyelet maillot.

5. A wide brim hat, yes protects your skin, but also protects those blonde highlights we all cherish so much.

6. The start of the season always needs a little help, a self tanner is just the ticket.

Go fish...

On a recent trip to Bloomingdales with a friend, I spied the below Alémais dress, and cannot stop thinking about it.  It is much "cuter" than anything I typically gravitate towards, but the shape and the whimsy of the dress has me dreaming up scenarios in which to wear it.

January to-do...

My January calendar is wide open, ready to check everything off my list.

1. Visit. Solid Gold at the Brooklyn Museum.

2. Eat. Onion soup at La Mercerie. Hopefully before they take the Christmas tree down.

3. Read.  A book a month is my goal.

4. See.  Stereophonic is only open until the 12th.  I may have more luck with Sunset Blvd.

Forever favorites...

My purchased list ran the gamut last year.   A lot of workout clothes, a lot of linen,  overall pieces I am excited to bring out again, and again.

Some favorites from 2024:

1. Tory Burch hook and eye tunic.  Few things live up to the hype - this was one of them.  I wanted this top for 8 months before finally pulling the trigger, and it has become a closet go-to.  Worn with jeans, trousers, silk skirt, the possibilities are endless.

2.  Electric milk frother.  Morning coffee game changer.

3. Cashmere shell.  The phrase, Final Sale, is usually persona-non-grata for me.  I took a chance on this shell, and was incredibly impressed.  It works with everything!

4. Rebecca de Ravanel crystal market bag.   Synonymous with Jane Birkin, Summer, French markets, I just love them.  Especially one with a crystal EJT on the front!

5. Tennis cocktail napkins.  These fell into the one for you, one for me column.
