Couture for Working Girls...

The set for Chanel's spring 2014 Couture show was flaked with two long, steep staircases.  Statement stairs, allowing for only delicate movement.  Not so for Karl.  His theme for the show was futuristic revolution, and he did just that.  Each model ran down the stairs in sneakers, couture sneakers of course,  made by Massaro in python, lace, pearls and tweed.
While watching the show, I could not help but be reminded of Melanie Griffith in Working Girl.  Tess McGill's overly teased hair and iconic commute from Staten Island to Manhattan in skirt suits and sneakers, would have fit in well here.   I wonder if Carly Simon's "Let the River Run" played during the show.
