Bare walls...

Art is one of the hardest things for me to commit to.  Putting a hole in the wall is so permanent.  Hence, my living room walls are bare, and have been for a while.  I want one oversize piece for the room, something that stands out, but isn't the main attraction.  It is a hard balance.
I love this Thom Filicia, Underwater, print, it would be summer year round in my living room.
But, will I want that in January?
I have admired Angela Chrusciaki Blehm's striped prints for a while.  This White Stripe Ribbon print is just the right amount of whimsey for the room.

Beach Party...

Truth be told, I love to entertain.
Few things make me happier than pretty table linens, gorgeous glassware, and fine china.  It can get tricky in a NYC apartment, but it works.
This beach party, by Ally Lewis of the Tomorrows, is simply divine.  From the raffia covered water glasses and layered linens the table feels warm and inviting, even in the middle of the beach!

Currently, I have my eye on this set of Bamboo flatware,
Dessert plates from La Double J,
And, these almost too-pretty to drink out of glasses.

a truly divine setting.

a tablecloth, and two placemats!

Keep hydrated...

Over the past year, I have made a conscious effort to curb the amount of waste I put out.  I store food in reusable containers, use paper straws (I know, baby steps), and fill reusable bottles with water constantly. One thing I don't love, cleaning my reusable bottles. I feel that they are never as clean as I want them to be.  The new Larq bottle solves this dilemma - it is self cleaning.  Sold!

Friday Florals....

Today is the last day for an extra 20% off all sale items at MatchesFashion.
They are my go to for everything, dresses, shoes, accessories - they always have the best edit.

This Brock Collection dress, left, has been at the top of my wishlist all season.
Perfect for warm summer days and dinners al fresco.

Borgo de Nor is the ultimate party dress!

This Dundas floral is ideal for end of summer and into fall.

If I had somewhere to go in the near future, I would be wearing this Rochas halter dress.

And, in non-floral options:

APiece Apart stripe dress - from the beach to a lobster roll with ease.
Weekend Max Mara - exactly what the title says, your go-to weekend dress.

All images via MatchesFashion.com - hopefully to my closet soon!

Beautiful in Brooklyn...

Vogue editor turned children's mecca business owner, Sylvana Durret, recently revealed her Brooklyn Brownstone redo, and it is fantastic!
Durret met designers Jesse Carrier and Mara Miller while at Vogue, and entrusted the duo with her renovation.  The kitchen is a dreamy pale green with a blue stripe banquet; the living room has a formal ease to it, with marigold velvet sofa and stripe dhurrie rug; and the library is painted a bold royal lacquer.  My favorite room is the dining room, covered in gorgeous deGournay wallpaper.

Chanel surf...

Chanel turned Sunset Beach, on Shelter Island, into the Chanel Yacht Club over the weekend in celebration of their new J12 watch.
Wishing the Chanel surf boards were for sale!

Apple watch...

Confession: I want one.
Admittedly, when they first came out, I thought they were gimmicky, for those that did not realize that a watch is a piece of jewelry, something that you have forever.   Then, Apple collaborated with Hermès.  My thoughts remained the same - if this is branded as an athletic watch, who is wearing a Hermès leather band to work out? Side-note, this question was quickly answered at a Soul Cycle class in Bridgehampton.
I'm not quite sure what changed my mind.  Maybe seeing them on the wrists of Anna Winter and Tonne Goodman (likely); Maybe playing with a friends Apple watch and seeing the fun things it can do (it told me that my stress levels were high); Maybe the evolution of the partnership has hit its stride where the luxury leather meets the tech watch seamlessly, streamlining the piece.
Whatever it is, I want in!

Tiffany blue...

The Tiffany color-block china is one of my favorites.  Recently, I pulled out my tea set, and was reminded how whimsical and fun these pieces are.  They maneuver from casual to formal with total ease.
The brand recently added to the collection with a set of four cocktail plates; I'm hoping to add them to my collection!

If I had somewhere to go...

Khaite, pronounced like Kate, is one of my favorite brands at the moment.  Their clothing is luxurious and timeless, truly pieces meant to stay in your wardrobe rotation forever.   This black pleated dress is gorgeous, and very on sale!  A simple sandal, and you are ready to go.
Now I just need somewhere to go.

I also have my eye on this, this and this trench coat!

Where'd you go...

I recently read Where'd You Go, Bernadette? on holiday. And, am happy I did!
Next month the film adaptation comes out, staring Cate Blanchett!

Sunscreen diaries...

I've spent a lot of time in the sun this summer.  From beach weekends, to European travels - this is the tannest I have ever been.  I will say that my saving grace from sunburns has been Supergoop.  I used the SPF50 Everyday Sunscreen, every-single-day in Greece and returned sun-kissed, rather than sun-burned.
Violet Grey had the genius idea to sell three key sunscreens together in chic case.  I am already in need of a reorder!

Shoeday Saturday...

This is my favorite sandal ever! I have been babying the pair that I have for years, but it may be time to bite the bullet and invest in a new pair.
I currently have them in gold, but the black seems chic with a white dress.

Beach day...

There are few things that I love more than a good beach set-up.
Happy 4th everyone!

Fringe beach umbrella, on sale!
Teak surf chair.
Never enough stripes.
Friends had this canvas cooler at the beach last weekend - it held a ton and didn't leak.
These heart shaped sunglasses are in my Amazon cart.
Flamingo ring toss, anyone?

Beach bound...

I'm packing up my canvas tote for a weekend at the beach.
Days spent on the beach followed by lobsters and fireworks.

This white cotton dress is perfect for summer, lightweight and machine washable.
One-shoulder bathing suits have been my go-to this summer.
I won't leave home without this SuperGoop sunscreen.
This hat travelled around Greece with me, and has been one of my best investments to date.
My summer sandal is usually pretty simple, something that can go from beach to dinner.
From May thru September, I have a basket on my arm. They are light, large enough to hold all your essentials, and work with any outfit.
I added a ribbon to the handle of mine.

Wish I had these Hamptons playing cards in time for my trip out there this week.

Breakfast with Wimbledon...

Grass courts, strawberries and cream, royals... it is time for Wimbledon.
One day, I will be there to watch in person.  Until then, I'll have to settle for having breakfast with Wimbledon.
