Kitchen Confidential...

The kitchen is favorite room in any home.  I think they give true insight into who lives there Do they like to cook? Are they entertainers? Are they cookie-cutter copycats or follow their own set of rules?  Yes, all of these questions can be answered by standing in someone kitchen.   The New York Times recently wrote on the evolution of kitchen design; specifically the breakaway from the "Nancy Meyers" kitchen, so to speak.  The departure of all white kitchens with larger-than-life marble islands, to spaces embracing creativity and not a Pinterest board.
The article mentions some favorites, (March in San Francisco for unique kitchen islands, and Steven Gambrel and Thomas O'Brien for their library-like kitchen designs) but, Humphrey Munson is worth mentioning in this arena as well.  The UK based bespoke kitchen firm design not your typical kitchens in shades of grey, blue, and white that evoke charm and character, which never go out of style.
